Moving a Single Assignment with Smart Suggestions

Move a single assignment quickly and easily using Smart Suggestions.

When you're in People: Phases or People: Projects views, you can simply select a person or vertically drag and drop an assignment from one person to another person.

Note: This functionality is only available for Resource Managers, Administrators and Owners.

Reassign a Single Assignment with Smart Suggestions

  1. In the People: Projects or People: Phases view of the Schedule page, hover your cursor over the assignment bar of a person or role to display the floating action icons.
    • Assignment hours prior to today's date can't be reassigned.
  2. Select the smart suggestions icon Smart Suggestions icon to open the Smart Suggestions page. 
    The assignment being reassigned displays in the information header.

    You can then reallocate the assignment using the Check icon or dragging and dropping the assignment.
  3. Hover over the person you're reallocating the assignment to and select the check icon Check icon.

    Alternatively, you can follow the steps below to drag and drop the assignment.
    1. Press and hold your left mouse button on an Assignment Bar to select it.

    2. Drag the assignment vertically and drop it to reallocate the assignment to a different person.ss - move single assigment-2
      Once the assignment is moved, the new resource expands and represents all work assigned to that resource.
  4. Select the Apply button to save the assignment move or the Cancel button to move the assignment back to the original person or role and close the dialog without saving.

    When an assignment is reallocated with Smart Suggestions, only the Name and Role display in the information header if no other assignments exist for the resource.
