Setting the Assignment Status

Change the status of assignments to Confirmed or Tentative.

You can set and/or update assignment statuses from the Schedule page.

Set a Status

  1. From the Projects view of the Schedule page, hover your cursor over a project, or tap the row if using a mobile device. The row color changes to indicate the project that will be updated.
  2. When the floating action buttons appear, select the add button-1 Add button and then select Assignment from the list to open the New Assignment dialog.

  3. Expand the Additional Information section.
  4. Select Confirmed or Tentative from the Status drop-down.

  5. Select Create to save the status change or Cancel to exit the dialog without saving.

Update a Status

  1. From the Projects view of the Schedule page, hover your cursor over a person's hours bar, or tap the row if using a mobile device. The background of the row color changes to purple to indicate the set of hours that will be updated.
  2. Select on the Assignment Hours row to open the Edit Assignment dialog shown above.

  3. Select Confirmed or Tentative from the Status drop-down list. See below for more information on confirmed and tentative statuses.
  4. Select Create to save the status change or Cancel to exit the dialog without saving.

Available Schedule Statuses

Once assignments are marked as Confirmed or Tentative, they display in the following ways on the Schedule. 

  • Chargeable (Confirmed) - Use this status to signify that a person or role's capacity is confirmed and assigned to a project with chargeable hours. This status displays as a solid gray background.
  • Chargeable (Tentative) - Use this status to signify that a person or role's capacity is scheduled but not yet confirmed and assigned to a project with chargeable hours. This status displays as a gray and white striped background.
    • Non-Chargeable (Confirmed) - Use this status to signify that a person or role's capacity is confirmed, and they're assigned to a project with non-chargeable hours. This status displays as a solid dark gray-blue background.
      • Non-Chargeable (Tentative) - Use this status to signify that a person or role's capacity is scheduled but not yet confirmed, and they're assigned to a project with non-chargeable hours. This status displays as a dark gray-blue and white striped background.

      Assignment statuses display on the People views and Project views.
